Geology Identification Challenge.
Grade Levels: 4 – 5; 6 – 8,
Team Size: 4 students (All members of a team must be within the competing grade level)
Team Qualifications: This challenge series is open to all schools, groups, home school or private organizations.

Designated pickup days for Geology Identification and Sample Kits are November 3rd 9:00am-3:00pm and November 5th 12:00pm-8:00pm at our workshop located at 4619 Mission Gorge Pl. Suite B, San Diego, CA 92120.
Each student team will be given a random assortment of six geological samples including gems minerals, rocks and fossils. They will have 30 days to identify and prepare a display or report on their findings.
At the STEAM Maker Festival a member each team will be given 1/2 of a six foot table to prepare their display. A display may consist of any report, backboard, or presentation the team chooses. between 10:00 and 12:00 on the day of the festival a member of the STEAM Maker Geological team will interview each team, at their table, and review their findings and presentation skills.
Awards and Prizes
Award points will be given based on accuracy of information, clarity of presentation and creative design of display materials.
Schools with the highest award points will be given a custom STEAM Maker award and Geological Samples for display in their classrooms.
